Liv Cooks: Crafting Meals, Moments, and a Sense of Ease
When you sit across from Olivia Healey, you notice two things right away. She loves food and she loves people, and her business, Liv Cooks, lives between those two passions.

Perhaps Olivia didn’t start the journey with the title of “entrepreneur” in mind, but every step of her story brought her to the place where she can dream up and create balanced, ready-to-eat meals or a dinner party that feels like something out of a magazine.

While she grew up north of Toronto, Oliva moved to St. Thomas while attending culinary school, and she loves this area as if she’d always been here. She built a life, found community, and carved out a path that blended her training with her instinct for hospitality.

The through-line is steady.
She likes feeding people well.
She likes making things easier for them.
And she wants the experience to matter.

How Liv Cooks Took Shape
Olivia’s post-graduation pathway began with a position as a sous-chef, but it wasn’t long before she found a challenge that also fed her desire to help people in a tangible way, and she moved into dietary services at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. Here, she developed menus for a wide variety of complex needs and fostered relationships with local suppliers for the Atrium Café, sparking her interest in local food systems.

She loved developing menus and connecting with suppliers. She loved serving staff and patients meals that felt thoughtful. She didn’t love the structure or the stress. After twelve years, she knew she was ready for something new.

Her next chapter was with Pepper Tree Spice Company. Teaching cooking classes reminded her that she thrives when she can talk with people, laugh with them, and cook without scripts. She learned quickly that she had an audience. People wanted her food. They trusted her palate. They liked the way she explained things. It gave her the push she needed to accept the title she'd earned. Chef.

Liv Cooks grew from that confidence.
Two Offerings, One Philosophy
Liv Cooks today has two sides. And they are both delicious.

Prepared Meal Service
This arm of the business is built for people who want:
  • Balanced, nutrient-conscious meals
  • High-quality ingredients
  • Convenience without subscriptions
  • Local produce when it’s available
  • Meals that support wellness goals
Olivia has been doing CrossFit for years. She understands how food fuels a busy life. She wanted to create something she would order herself: meals grounded in good nutrition, but not restrictive. Meals that fit into real life.
She orders from local farmers when she can. She’s a frequent face at the Horton Farmers’ Market. She buys from local abattoirs. Freshness matters. Taste matters. Simplicity matters.

Her customers order what they need, when they need it. No automatic billing. No pressure. Just good food, ready to heat and enjoy.

In-Home Dining and Catering
This is Olivia’s favourite part of her work.

She lights up when she talks about it. Setting a table. Planning a menu based on someone’s favourite dessert. Creating a space where the host can actually enjoy their own celebration.

She handles:
  • Three to four-course dinners
  • Cocktail service
  • Small-group gatherings
  • Special occasions
  • Events where people want something personal and memorable

She prints menus. She dresses up. She brings the energy of a restaurant into a private home without the stress that usually comes with hosting.

And people notice.
At one event, two guests booked her on the spot.
What Drives Her
When Olivia cooks for people, she watches their reaction. She listens for the pause when someone takes the first bite. She loves that moment.

She calls her love language “acts of service,” and food is the clearest way she expresses it. She wants her clients to feel cared for. She wants them to feel at ease.

She also draws from her years in clinical nutrition. She understands dietary restrictions, allergies, and compliance. She knows how to plan meals for people with cardiac conditions, diabetes, or sensitivities. She knows how to make food taste good without compromising everyone’s ability to enjoy what’s on their plate.

Few private chefs bring that skillset into homes. That sets her apart.
Creativity on Her Own Terms
Liv Cooks lets Olivia work the way she’s always wanted to—creating menus from scratch, following inspiration rather than templates, and building meaningful partnerships with local farmers and makers. It gives her the freedom to shape each season of her business around her life, keeping joy at the centre of everything she does.

She’s not interested in scaling so fast or so far that she loses the connection that makes her work special. Growth only matters if it supports her quality of life. She wants enough work to stay busy and fulfilled, but not so much that it crowds out her creativity, her balance, or her time with family.

Her goal isn’t to build an empire.
Her goal is to build a life.

The Experience She Offers
If you book an in-home dinner with Liv Cooks, Olivia wants you to feel three things.
Ease
You don’t worry about cooking, timing, or cleanup. You pour a drink. You sit with your guests. She handles the rest.
Connection
She learns what you love. She tailors the menu. She makes the night feel specific to you.
Care
She brings her culinary training, her nutrition background, and her instinct for hosting into one experience.
For her meal service customers, she offers something similar. Meals that keep you grounded. Meals that remove friction from your week. Meals that help you eat well without thinking too hard about it. Balanced nutrition to help you keep the balance in your life, week to week or once in a while.

What Comes Next
Olivia’s future plans aren’t about expansion. She wants to keep doing work that feels good. She enjoys the rhythm she has built. She enjoys the people she serves. She enjoys the mix of structure and freedom.

She may host workshops again someday. She may grow her team casually through trusted friends. She may take on more dinner parties. She may stay right where she is.

What matters is that she gets to cook with intention and care.

Why Liv Cooks Resonates
People call Olivia because she cooks with purpose, personalizes every experience, brings deep nutritional knowledge, and offers convenience without ever compromising quality. She has a way of making food feel meaningful.

Her business isn’t just about meals — it’s about giving people moments they want to remember.

And whether you order a week of balanced lunches or invite her into your home for a celebration, you feel the same thing: she genuinely wants you to enjoy yourself and the food on your plate.

That’s the heart of Liv Cooks.
