The award is to recognize the efforts of a St. Thomas entrepreneur who has created a successful and growing business through the application of commitment, dedication, hard work, ingenuity and innovation.
Starting with renting a commercial kitchen and a strong, effective marketing and sales campaign, Living Alive Granola quickly grew into a larger space for production. Now located on 22 Spackman Blvd. in St. Thomas, the business is led by the dynamic team of Stephanie Brown and Joe Preston. Living Alive uses Palmer’s beautiful dark maple syrup from Port Stanley, Clovermead’s Summer Blossom Honey from Aylmer, ON and local oats. Stephanie and Joe are advocates for helping local mental health programs and Living Alive Granola pledges 10 cents from every bag sold to make a difference in this important area. Starting just 15 months ago, through hard work, solid business planning and strong strategic alliances, they have created 6 jobs in our community and are now in over 100 stores across Ontario.
